Florida Pediatric Research Institute
Helping kids breathe better, play harder, and sleep deeper.
The Florida Pediatric Research Institute specializes in Pulmonary and Sleep research studies. Our principal investigator, Dr. Ajayi, is dedicated to providing top care to all of his patients, whether or not they enroll into a study. FPRI is an independently-owned facility and we rely on the help of community volunteers to help change the world of medicine. Find out why participating in clinical trials is important and how participation can help you.
Why Participate?
Research Studies Touch the Lives of Millions.
The term "research study" or "clinical trial" can sound intimidating, but here is why it shouldn't be:
We are currently conducting FDA-supervised Phase III and IV studies. This means that these studies have already gone through 2-3 rounds of phase testing before they have made it to our site. At this point, side effects have been pinpointed because the investigational medication is closer to reaching the market.
A strict, IRB-approved protocol is in place that the research team has been heavily trained on. This is to ensure that the protocol is followed very closely from the moment you are consented to after your last visit.
You will have 24/7 access to a certified and experienced Pulmonologist who is dedicated to making sure your safety is the number one priority.
If at any time, you do not feel comfortable or feel unsafe, you can withdraw your consent. As a volunteer, you have the right to decide whether or not you want to continue. If treatment has already started and you decide that you no longer wish to be in the study, you may be asked to return for a follow up visit to ensure that the medication is out of your system and it is safe to resume other medications.

Benefits of Participating in a Research Study
Helping Others
When you participate in a research study, you are helping to potentially get an investigational medication on the market that many others can benefit from. You have the opportunity of knowing that you are helping to contribute to the research of a new medication that may help people world-wide.
Access to Healthcare
You acquire free access to investigational medications and seeing a doctor who will treat you as though you were a paying patient.
No Insurance Needed
Research does not require you to have insurance because you do not have to pay for any of the services related to the study. As a volunteer to research, everything is taken care of for you.
Compensation
If you are eligible for a research study here at our site and you decide to enroll, you will be compensated for your time and travel. Compensation amounts varies from study to study.
